Random

Ahh...today is a little 'catch-up' day - just sharing random different things over the past few months.  I don't necessarily enjoy sharing this way, as I am an organizer and like for each thing to be in it's own place tied with it's own bow and easy to find later, if needed.  HOWEVER. ;0  Time's too sweet to spend a month (at the least) 'catching up' to only be behind again!  So here's a (long) posting of pics and fun!

Just because she's ADORABLE ;0 (and lets face it, we're all about posting her cute pics!)
...here are a couple of group cousin and cousin-cousin shots that we took back at the end of May at
Tio Carlos' 80th birthday!
it was so nice to see Aguirre family...lots of great memories going on vaca to huntington beach or el centro with my parents to spend time with them...and now that we're all grown up, times together are (very) few and far between...
had to share this pic just because it's not often Tia "duck (as em sometimes call her;0)" has her hairs all down and out of her jammies;0

Our little compassionate girl.
As many of you know, Tyler's just endured a very tiring and long trek of working incredibly hard and long hours/days (long enough to have earned nearly 3 additional weeks of vacation!)....this day he was just tired and having a head ache and Ms Em went to comfort him and rub his head...

The fair
always fun to go see the animals!  Especially when it's 'free before 3':0
one of our first Boyd family outings with the newly arrived Matt, Charrie & Caden!
Emma was not having taking one of these pics...until she saw popi do it too!

little girl is becoming such a big girl!  She's being more and more independent (awesome, yes;0)...just much sooner than we realized she would!  Here she is finally up on a step stool taking control of brushing her teeth

on our way home from san diego (in May) we stopped at downtown disney for a walk and dinner...why not, it was just off of the freeway anyhow!  i rarely get pics WITH em let alone one of her hugging me!

one thing that emma LOVES is going to grandma and grandpas for 1. peaches and 2. to see the cows!
she loves running all about their backyard!
and that day she was particularly interested in grandma being with her;0
...family...love these girls - and i think in the past FIVE years, this is the first pic we've taken!

we were together for Dani's baby shower - so we thought we'd get a full cousin pic including her in it;0

here's Em visiting grandpa (Luis)
While Emma and I don't go visit often, she apparently knows the drill from when she goes with Tere
getting him fresh flowers, and fixing up/wiping down his marker
...can't wait for her to meet him some day!

And there you have it...a few of the random times in our lives over the past 3 months!

Just like us!

Life's gotten so nutty, time slim and too much going on! What's new?! :)

Tired of not sharing our happs with you!  So thought I'd be brief and take away from my 'wind down time' and show you a snippet of our past weekend.

Emma is just a little mini us!  Seriously!  I know I usually show her when she's like her Papa like here.. ;0

I couldn't resist laughing and snapping these shots tho, when I saw her like this!

It's mini mama!!  (when I clocked in and out for my '8 hours' a day ;0)
This call was on speaker ;0

Doesn't she look like she's really doing something here?!

And SERIOUS issue she's dealing with now...
(work connie woudl say, "don't you have something better to be doing with your time?! if nothing else - GET AHEAD!"
...all the while having fun ;0

Anyway, just thought I would entertain my audience of 3, even though we're losing 1 member tomorrow ;0  She'll see them when she gets back home, I suppose!

Nighty-night all!
PS to see all the fun I had snapping away, click here ;0

Tiny Dancer

...OK so, when I envision 'dancing' it isn't quite like this, but at least she hears music, feels it and when she chooses to clap or make noises along with songs, she is pretty coordinated ;0  Mama's proud:)

In the middle of playing with her dolls, she heard the music playing in the background and was so excited!  When I turned it up, she got SUPER excited (I think she likes the sound of the crowd as much as the music and singing ;0), so I had to reach for the flip...enjoy!

Ms Flexible

We keep hearing people be surprised at how flexible Ms Em is.  I just figured all babies are pretty bendy :)

The other day (okay early July), we were on the changing table...well, not me of course ;0 ...ANYWHO, I was getting a pump of my lotion antibacterial after I tossed the dirty diaper in the trash, and had to look down for some reason.  When I looked back up, this is what I saw:

...Look closer...

YEP - she decided to suck on her toes ;0 And when I grabbed the camera, she decided to try to smile while keeping her toes in her mouth.

Such a cutie!!

This week has been busy-busy-busy!  But a good one!  I'm processing my day yesterday and hope to share about it soon :)  Hope to start catching up on the pics by Monday!

The chatter box

I know I haven't had time to upload pics, and had the chance to grab the flip to record this...so hope this makes up for our picture-less week :)

This is a typical conversation between Emma and I.

Sure has come a long way from this!  She has finally gotten the hang of pushing the toy around (she didn't like it much at first), and when she runs in to a road block, she'll usually re position it and herself so she can continue on!  Too bad I distracted her, you could have seen her in action ;0  We've got a smart (and determined) one on our hands!

Have a great weekend.

organization treat ;0

This summer, during my 'nesting' phase before Emma was born, I shared about a photo/invite holder/organizer that I had been wanting.

I did good at making do with what I had :)  I felt very creative finding a way to utilize the large quantity of magnets we had, while displaying our photos :)

Well, after Emma was born, and Christmas was approaching, I realized that last year after Christmas, we ordered stockings that were on sale :)  And we now needed one for Emma!  So, I logged on to the website to order it for her, and thought...'hmm, wonder if they're going to be selling the 'card organizer' again this season...' so i peeked around, and there it was!

Tyler convinced me to just get it.  It's apparently something they'll sell each year and won't put on sale, so just had to go for it....AND I DID!

Super excited.  Here it is when it was full of Christmas cards!

So now my fridge gets to be completely clutter free - and we have a way cute wall hanging with our pics, cards and anything else we want to display :)

Just had to share since I had shared my desire to have this.

FINALLY

OHMYGOODIEBOY...as my friend Melis used to say :)  After all the planning and waiting and changing directions, Ms Emma's room is finally D-O-N-E!  So excited!  Not that it's all that, but with how much time I spend in there, it was driving me a little nutty seeing it 'almost done' for so long!!

yes, I'm a background story girl, so you will NOT just simply be seeing pics of the room.  I will talk you through it :)

So, I had found the 'perfect' bedding early on in the pregnancy, but the price tag scared me away :)  After serious hours of online searching (hey, I was working only part time!) I decided that I just couldn't find anything else that I liked better...too many animal themed sets, which I'm not to crazy about.  Marty had given me some great ideas on how to 'boy it up' if that's what came, but now that we know Emma is a she, I was thrilled to be able to do 'up' the purple and have this bedding!

Like I said, it was pricey, SO I was waiting for our 'completion' coupon from Babies R Us to be able to at least get it a little cheaper, then Marty was going to get the set for us as our gift, and she brought to my attention that it was 'not available'...it was on back order for 3 months, and it continued to get pushed back (the ETA date), so I decided to give up on it.  I was super sad :(

HOWEVER, the Friday before I was baptized, I was at our pastor's house going over the meaning and basis for baptism...and since they were preparing for their move to Ohio, they were having a garage sale...AND I found a purple and white bedding set for $10 :)

Since we moved Emma in to her room 1 week after she came home, and her crib a couple of weeks after that, it had been our 'for now' bedding :)  BUT I loved the simplicity of it, just a gingham print, purple and white only.  Nice and plain, which I love!

so you'd think we would have been done by now, right?!  Well, then we had to wait for all of the pieces to fall in to place, and our creative little minds to come up with low costing ways of decorating :)

...here it is!
...you can barely notice the blanket over the crib and the quilt on the glider...(handmade) gifts from Grandma Burton...they help tie the room together nicely!

this casting is something we purchased at an auction 2 years ago.  We'd been waiting to get pregnant and be able to use the gift certificate for it!  We had Tyler's hand on the side of my belly for it to be able to capture all three of us (thank you for the idea Mr Michael Mendonca!).

We had this casting done just 3 days before my water broke!  Since I never got belly pics, it's the ONLY reminder of my belly, just less than a week before Emma was born (can you tell how thrilled I am about it and the timing?! :) )
So this is her ballerina wall :)  Like I said, not too excited about all the typical baby room stuffs.  I decided on purple ballerina as the primaries...there's a rug under the crib that brings in pink and other colors (so we're not just a purple melting pot!)
Everything I found online to purchase for wall hangings was seriously at the least $50, but the ones I liked were more along the lines of $150...cracks me up, I'm always about getting the cheapest things and when it came to baby stuff I seem to be going for the pricier ones!  ANYWAY, I must have felt rested last week because my mind finally worked and thought "IDEA" get images off the internet and change the colors to purple...and print them at home!  Tyler had gotten these black vinyl frames, so it all worked perfect!

Got the pointe shoes on ebay for super cheap, and the tutu is the one my sister Diane made for Emma's shower decor
and what she wore home from the hospital!

...back to the room...
While what goes on the shelves I'm sure will work itself out in time, the verse underneath was something we'd picked out basically as soon as we got passed the 12 week mark and were excited to know we'd be welcoming a precious gift from God after much, MUCH, prayer :)

and since I described the bedding so, here's a close up :)

...so there you have it!  You'll have to bare with how much of a big deal it is to me that it's done.  It makes me smile :)  ...one more thing off my to-do list!!
