Home Sweet Home

We have some great news to share - we are soon to be home owners!!

This all just kind of happened - we were out seeing what we would be able to purchase in our 'price range' we were wanting to stay within. My friend Ginger is in Real Estate and hooked us up with a Realtor. On Monday we went out and looked at homes and FOUND ONE. It had all of our 'wish list' items; just short of being our castle;)...It is just perfect for us. While we weren't out expecting to find something, we felt that we couldn't let this one go, so we prayed about it, and placed an offer on Tuesday. Last night Ginger called to give us the news! So, now we get to do all the fun finalizing stuffs and we should close by 12/6!

It was a crazy week. We had been in prayer and asked for some help with that prayer (thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!). We wanted to be in the neighborhood and home that the Lord has selected for us, and we didn't want our excitement of how 'perfect' we felt this home was for us to get in the way of what He was telling us :) Guess this is it! YEAH :)

Thought we would share the news and a few photos!

Fun Friday

So...our boss' favorite 'holiday' is Halloween, so the office was a little less serious today. And my husband also decided he wanted to decorate our office a bit, so we ran by walmart on the way to work today to pick up some webs and a few decorations.
This desire came after I asked Tyler if we could dress up together as a couple and he said NO WAY :) So, I was a little shocked, but went along with it.

He decorated our office very nicely, and it's too bad we didn't get more pictures...but here are a few.

The hallway from his office to mine...
And a few decorations we got from our ware house :) We always send out an office email to our staffers (and I did include some non staffers, so you may have received as well) so we took time out to take an office photo today. Before the whole crew got there, Heather decided to take some posed photos, pretending to be getting married to our headless friend...and I was apparently officiating the ceremony :)
And our office group photo (those of us at work today)

What a day...hey we got a minimum day out of it!
...Well, off we go to have a little family dinner :) Not sure that this is the normal tradition on Halloween, but since we are sans kiddos, and my sister's cookin' that's what we're doing :) Hope everyone has a fun and safe night!

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure

The last post was actually on my dad's birthday...it would have been his 73rd birthday this year. In just a few days, we'll be at the two year mark from the day he passed. This is a bit of a rough time for each of us; each in a different way, I'm sure.

I thought I would spend some time this afternoon looking at some pictures, and as I was, I thought I would post a few of them, for some of you to learn a little about him, and others of you to remember him with me :)

Here are some pics from his surprise 70th bday party that my mom, sisters and I threw for him...

This was the best shot of him that we got all day :)

Diane and Chico - we all surrounded him for a while during some music and time of 'story sharing' from some of his friends and family.

My dad and his homies - My Tio Carlos, Mon, and "Pedrio" as my dad called him :) I call them his homies...because, well, they were all little homies when they were growing up!

My Tia Rica next to her 'little brother'
Back inside, surrounded by his gifts...but taking a break to sip some tea :)
For 4th of July (06) we all went to the college to have a picnic dinner, hang out and watch the fireworks together. Here's my dad and my cousin Hermie chatting it up :)

Later that month, we had a family quinceanera,
and here's the last pic that was taken of my dad and I.
Each year, I got my dad Dodger/Giant's tickets for the September series. Here was our last game together. He got to see Tommy Lasorda there, and said they were the best seats he ever had at a game :)
It was just he and I sitting there together, and my mom and Alex were sitting in the bleachers (I could only afford to splurge on two tickets:) I know they understood)
The game was on 9/30, which is also my niece Pagie's bday. So after the game, we went straight to dinner to meet up with the fam. This is the last picture that we have of my dad...and he's smiling :) Unfortunately, my mom's face is cut off in this frame...but they got one earlier that night where she's smiling and in the frame completely.
Last, but not least, my 'signature' picture with my daddy :) I love him and miss him dearly! I wish more than anything that he could have met Tyler, and that he could be sharing with us, everything that's going on in life...but I understand the Lord's plan and his timing. I look forward to be reuniting with him some day, when 'my number is called' as he would say :)

When someone you love becomes a memory,
the memory becomes a treasure.
